Dr. Richard Gaffin writes on the Third Person of the Trinity: "To confess with the Nicene Creed, 'the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life,' is to confess what is true, in large part, because of the truth already confessed that 'the only-begotten Son of God … for us and our salvation came down from heaven,' with all that is then further confessed about the incarnate Son."
