Nathan D. Shannon is Adjunct Professor of Apologetics and Systematic Theology and Associate Director of Global Curriculum and Assessment. His scholarship focuses on Reformed theology, apologetics, biblical theology, and theological method. His broader research interests include the theology of religions, culture and cultural apologetics, and the global transmission of the Reformed tradition.
From 2015 to 2021, Dr. Shannon taught systematic theology at Torch Trinity Graduate University in Seoul, South Korea, where he also engaged extensively in cross-cultural ministry. At Westminster, he supports the Seminary’s Global Initiatives, including its Korean, Spanish, and Arabic programs. He regularly teaches graduate-level theology and apologetics in Spanish through Westminster’s Spanish Initiatives and in partnership with theological institutions and church leaders across Latin America. These international teaching ministries reflect his longstanding commitment to equipping the global church through confessional Reformed theological education.
Dr. Shannon is the author of Absolute Person and Moral Experience (Bloomsbury, 2022) and Shalom and the Ethics of Belief (Pickwick, 2015), editor of the Great Thinker series published by P&R Publishing, and author of numerous scholarly articles on apologetics, Reformed theology, biblical theology, and the theology of religions. His current research seeks to develop a biblical-theological approach to apologetics while advancing Reformed theology in dialogue with global intellectual and cultural traditions. Dr. Shannon is committed to equipping pastors, scholars, and church leaders to articulate and defend the Christian faith with biblical fidelity, theological depth, and cultural wisdom.
